To listen to these messages on your computer, you will need to have media player software on your computer.

What's a media player? Most people have some sort of media software to listen to audio content on their computers. Many computers come with one of these players already installed.

The most popular are Windows Media Player and iTunes. Both of these players are free for download by clicking the highlighted software names here.

If you have an older computer, a better choice for free media player software may be the FREE version of WinAmp. Click the highlighted software name to connect to the WinAmp website.

If you have a slow Internet connection and do NOT plan to copy (burn) these files to a CD, the Lite version of WinAmp, also free, will be enough.

But before you download a media player, check first whether you may have a player already installed on your computer .

Visit the online listing of CBC audio messages, choose a message and then choose the "Listen" option. A dialog box may appear asking you what software you want to use to play the audio file of the message with a suggested media player listed. If so, choose that player. OR your installed media player may just automatically start to play the message on your computer.

To copy these messages to a CD, your media player software must have that option AND you need to have a "CD burner" on your computer: a CD drive that not only plays CDs but can also write to blank CDs.

The above three suggested media players do have the option of "burning" or creating audio CDs from audio files.
