Community Bible Church of Northern Westchester

Sunday Mornings

Join us on Sunday mornings to worship God, grow spiritually, and connect with others.

Service Overview

We gather on Sundays in-person and on ZOOM. The first Sunday of each month our service includes communion. Twice a month we have a blend of traditional and contemporary worship music and twice a month contemporary worship music. Each service includes a teaching message from Scripture.

We’re a diverse group — some wear coats and ties or dresses; others come in jeans or shorts. Come dressed the way you best feel you can connect with God.

We are a friendly church but we won’t single you out. We invite you to participate as much or as little as you find comfortable.

Chances are, you’ll meet someone like you. CBCers are people of all ages and a variety of professions, ethnicities, and religious upbringings.

If you have kids 4 years old or under, you are welcome to place them in our nursery before the service or to keep them with you. During the service (before the message), kids grades K-6 are invited to go to “Junior Church” for the remainder of the service. As with nursery care, you are welcome to keep your children with you or send them out to Junior Church or to go with them to get them settled in Junior Church. We also have Sunday school for kids and teens from 11:10-noon; check the bulletin or ask an usher for room locations.
The portion of our building in which we meet on Sunday mornings used to be the old Kitchawan Tavern which gives our church a warm and rustic log cabin feel. We hope visiting us feels like a “retreat” from the busy pace of the New York metro area. For the history of our building click here.
Every Sunday we take an offering to support the operation of our church. (On the third Sunday the offering goes to missions). Many people also give electronically. While this is an important part of our worship to God, we don’t pressure anyone — you are welcome to participate or not as you feel best.
As you walk into our building, expect people to say hello! As you come into our worship space, someone by the door will offer you a bulletin for that morning’s service that gives you the outline of the service and some announcements about our community.

You’ll see some people chatting together and other people sitting alone quietly preparing their hearts for worship. Feel free to sit where ever you feel comfortable. We use TV screens to show song lyrics, key thoughts and images, and Bible verses during the service. You’ll find the key focus for that morning’s worship up on the screen (and in the bulletin) before the service starts.

We usually have several songs in our service. You are welcome just to listen or to sing. There will be different people up front during the service to read from the Bible, pray, give announcements, play instruments or sing as part of that morning’s worship team.

Part of the service will include a half hour or so message by our pastor, one of our other church leaders, or a visiting speaker. If you read this whole thing, you’ll do fine listening to the message!
